Maidaan is an upcoming Indian Hindi language biographical sports-based film directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios. The film is based on the golden age of Indian football and also highlights the development of Indian football during the period from 1952 to 1962, and the lives of many people who have made significant contributions in this field.
Maidaan is a sports biopic set in the golden age of Indian football. The film is based on the life of popular football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. Who led the Indian football team for 13 years and laid the foundation of modern Indian football.
Ajay Devgan is the lead actor, along with Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, Rudranil Ghosh, and Abhinay Raj Singh also acting as co-actors. The music for the film has been composed by AR Rahman.
The auspicious release date of the film is scheduled for February 17, 2023. The photography of the film began on August 19, 2019, and the film’s work was suspended for a long time due to the Covid pandemic. The unfinished work on the film was finally completed in May 2022.
The film Maidan was earlier scheduled to hit the theatres on June 3, 2022, but was later delayed due to various works. It is now scheduled to hit the theatres on February 17, 2023.
According to various sources, the budget for the film is expected to be around Rs 100 crore. If it achieves success in getting audience response in cinema halls, it is expected to get around Rs 150 crore.
Around Rs 10 to 13 crore is expected to be earned on the first day. As the coronavirus pandemic continues to wane in India, the film can release on around 2,600 screens in India and around 500 screens abroad.

Who was Syed Abdul Rahim?
Syed Abdul Rahim was born on August 17, 1909, and died on June 11, 1963. He was known as Rahim Sahab. He was a chief player of the Indian football team, and later became the coach and manager of the Indian football team. From the 1950s until his death, he was very much involved in Indian football. He is considered to be the father of modern Indian football. He is a catalyst for the development of football in the Indian subcontinent. His tenure as coach marked the beginning of the golden era of football in India. Under his guidance, the Indian national team developed significantly in terms of qualities and tactics. It was in his day that he managed to play in the semi-finals of the Summer Olympics. On the other hand, he was able to give India a taste of gold medals at the 1951 and 1962 Asian Games.
