Assam – Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens for the following positions under the Population Research Centre, sponsored by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, at Gauhati University.

Qualifications & Experience

1. Research Investigator

Qualifications: At least a 2nd class Post Graduate degree in Demography/Population Studies/Statistics/Economics/Mathematics/Sociology/Social Work/Psychology/Anthropology/Geography. Proficiency in computer applications, MS Word, MS Excel, and statistical software (e.g., SPSS and R-Programming).

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in data collection, analysis, and report writing. (Relaxation for candidates with higher qualifications).

2. Research Fellow-II (Contractual)

Educational Qualification: At least a 2nd class Post Graduate degree in Demography/Population Studies/Statistics/Economics/Mathematics/Sociology from a recognized Institution/University. Proficiency in computer applications, MS Word, MS Excel, and statistical software (e.g., SPSS and R-Programming).

Experience: One year of post-qualification experience (after Post Graduation). Relaxation in deserving cases.

Nature of Work for Both Posts

Selected candidates for both positions will be responsible for extensive fieldwork, data entry, tabulation, data analysis, and report writing. Both positions involve extensive outstation traveling.

Age Limit

Candidates for both positions must not be above 38 years on the date of application.
